Beginning your journey with us.
Choosing where your child takes their first steps into the world is one of the most important decisions you'll make. We've made the path to joining us warm, personal, and refreshingly simple.
We are a year-round school — and because of our intentional, relationship-first approach to transitions, we operate with a waiting list. If you're considering APS, we encourage you to reach out early.

Six gentle steps.

Home Visit
Two of our educators visit your child at home for a gentle 45-minute session — stories with puppets, a little tea party, imaginative play. They're getting to know your child; your child is quietly getting to know them.
Settling In
A guardian remains on school premises during the initial settling phase, so your child always knows safety is close. This gradual, research-backed approach ensures every child feels secure and emotionally ready.
Welcome Home
Your little one begins their journey. We stay in close partnership with you through daily updates, regular check-ins, and an always-open door.
A beginning built on trust.
Before your little one begins with us, two of our educators conduct a home visit — spending approximately 45 minutes in the comfort of your child's familiar environment. Rather than a formal assessment, it's a gentle playdate: reading stories with puppets, imaginative play with tea sets, and other age-appropriate experiences woven naturally into the visit.
This allows us to begin building trust, understanding, and a meaningful connection with both the child and their family — long before the first day of school.
Once your child is ready to transition into school, we follow a carefully designed settling-in process where a guardian is required to be present within the school premises during the initial phase. Rooted in research and best practices in early childhood development, this approach ensures that every child feels secure, supported, and emotionally safe as they take their first steps into a new environment.
We're open all year.
APS is a year-round school, thoughtfully structured to support each child's smooth and gentle transition into their learning journey. There is no single annual intake — children can begin when they and their family are ready.
Places fill quickly.
Because of this intentional and gradual transition system, we operate with a waiting list. Families often register months in advance to secure a place. We warmly invite you to get in touch early.

You may be wondering.
When can my child start?
We are a year-round school, welcoming children throughout the year as places become available. Because of our intentional transition process, demand is high and families often register months in advance — the earlier you reach out, the better.
How do I know which program fits?
Age is our starting point, but every child is different. After your visit, our educators will recommend the program that best matches your child's stage and temperament.
Do you have a waiting list?
Yes. Because of our gradual, relationship-first admissions process — including home visits and a carefully managed settling-in period — we operate with a waiting list. We warmly encourage families to get in touch early to secure a place.
Do you offer a settling-in period?
Always. Before your child's first day, two of our educators visit your home to begin building trust. Once your child is ready to start, a guardian remains on school premises during the initial settling phase, ensuring the transition is gentle and emotionally safe.
Can we visit before applying?
We encourage it. A visit is the best way to feel whether we're the right home for your child, and there's no obligation to apply afterwards.
